Hi Les:
I'm very new to all of this but I'll try to help you.
It's listed as a 1959 Devin but this seems impossible because the rear suspension is from a 1962 Corvair. It's a Devin C, which means that it has a rear engine. The first rear engine Devins used Porsche engines but once Porsche realized that the Devins were beating them with their own engines they stopped selling Bill
Devin engines. So Bill switched to Corvair. The history is very murky since Bill wasn't much of a records keeper. Apparently, my Devin C was originally owned by Bill himself until 1966.
It then traded hands and was pretty well shelved for 30 years. Bill got it back and Tom Schrum took it on to get it fixed up a little for Bill to sell. Jeff Moore was the one that did the last touches, put it on the internet and dealt with me and the sale. I bought it in Feb, 2000 and picked it up in Missouri in June 2000.
